Italian Living Posted on February 16, 2018 by DanitaJuly 2, 2018

Sagre delle Castagne 2017

Italian Living Posted on October 9, 2017 by DanitaSeptember 14, 2019

We’re always told that BorgoTarese “just want to be happy and have fun”. That sounds like a reasonable aspiration to me! We arrived back home on Thursday, and Friday started the celebrations for La Sagre delle Castagne – the Chestnut Festival! I love parties, and I love chestnuts, so that was fine by me. Remember when I complained so much about the dirt in our apartment that I went out and bought a robot vacuum cleaner to keep the dust bunnies at bay? Well, while we were away, our landlord replaced all of the … Continue reading →

The 25th of April is a very important day in Italy. It is known as Liberation Day, and up here in the Taro Valley, tucked into the Appenni Mountains, you are more likely to hear it heralded as the Celebration of the Resistance.
