What a dinner bill!
This week we are in Bologna! Our AirBNB is absolutely amazing (more on that in a different post), and so far our limited experiences in Bologna are all we hoped for. Our first day was mostly “just getting here”. We had a leisurely start to our day, leaving BorgoTaro on the 11:14 train, with a typical stopover in Parma. Quick station lunch and then back on the train to Bologna. Our only “glitch” for the day was that heading to our AirBNB, we got on the RIGHT bus, going the wrong way. The “terminal” at the train station wasn’t clear to us that there was a direction involved – LOL. Thankfully Google Maps quickly showed us that we were moving in the wrong direction, so we hopped off the bus, crossed the street, and in a few minutes were back on the bus heading in the proper direction. And then we napped!
At 7:30 pm we headed out for aperitivo. Our first choice bar was full up (maybe another night), and so we found another very quirky hipster bar (Capo Nord Caffè Ristò). Simple apertivo bar and good prosecco. Also they had a lot of very cool hand knitted caps and such. I might go back by there for a new beanie before we leave Bologna, but I’m holding out for the “perfect” souvenir. After aperitivo we started looking for a dinner spot, and found two in the vicinity that looked promising, so we started off to Il Pellegrino, and if that didn’t suit us we were going to try another restaurant called Bistro Domino. We didn’t make it to Bistro Domino. Il Pellegrino was all we had hoped for. We had a 1/2 liter of wine, a liter of sparkling water, with pasta and dessert for three.
