Be crunchy, be brave, be a . . . Highlander?
It’s always funny to see how non-native speakers come up with odd slogans, sayings and just ideas about foreign people and foreign words. I remember living in San Diego, and there was a restaurant called “La Petite Café”. How very French! Not so fast. Café is masculine, so it should have been “Le Petit Café”. There’s corned beef and cabbage as a typical St. Patrick’s Day meal in the US. Except the corned beef in the US is not a known “thing” in Ireland. I went to a Wendy’s once in Switzerland, and no one really knew how to use the salad bar!
So while on our way to the train station a bit ago for a trip to Parma, this particular potato chip display really caught my eye.
That said, I guess there’s not much more crunchy (or brave) than going commando under a kilt!
